Oopsie Daisy Edits has worked in the publishing industry since 2012. She is adept at finding typos, missing and extra words, incorrect word usage, homophones, tense and POV slips, timeline issues and inconsistent details, as well as grammar and punctuation errors.
Oopsie Daisy Edits follows the Chicago Manual of Style, implements American spelling per Merriam-Webster (unless directed otherwise prior to commencement of work), and works nondestructively in Microsoft Word with Track Changes.
Oopsie Daisy Edits does not use and will never upload your document to any grammar-checking app or service.
Edits are scheduled for Monday through Friday. (Weekend dates may be available, but will be invoiced at a premium rate.)
Advance booking is recommended, but last-minute jobs will be accommodated if possible.
For professional transparency, Oopsie Daisy Edits is also an established romance author.

LINE EDIT / CONTENT

Everything included in copy edit, plus:
• Noting overused words or phrases
• Sentence restructuring for readability or clarity
• POV correction
• Inconsistent detail notes
• Timeline discrepancies noted
• Characterization inconsistency notes
• Plot hole notes
Weekend bookings are charged at the above rate plus an additional $0.03 per word.

DETAILS
Payment:
Invoices are issued through PayPal. Payment is due upon receipt.
For first-time clients:
A 50% deposit before commencement of work is required. This invoice will be issued at 8:00 a.m. EST on your editing date.
Booking Deposit:
A $20 USD booking deposit is required to hold each editing reservation. This deposit is nonrefundable if you no-show for your scheduled date, cancel/change your reservation with less than 72 hours’ notice, or choose not to have your manuscript edited. (**See below.)
In all other cases, your deposit will be applied to your final editing invoice.
Timelines:
Your manuscript is due to Oopsie Daisy Edits by 8:00 a.m. EST on your scheduled editing date.
Oopsie Daisy Edits estimates copy editing and proofreading time at 20k words per day. (Manuscripts scheduled for copy editing that are found to require more than 10 in-line corrections per page may require more time to complete.)
Line and content edits are estimated to require one day per 15k words.
Complimentary Sample:
To determine if we’re a good fit, Oopsie Daisy provides all potential new clients with a no-obligation, complimentary edit and assessment of up to 3,000 words.
** In cases where manuscripts scheduled for copy editing or proofreading are found to require line and/or content editing, Oopsie Daisy will contact the author by 9:30 a.m. EST and offer the choice of upgrading to the recommended service, or canceling the editing appointment.
CONTENT LIMITATIONS
Oopsie Daisy edits all heat levels of romance, including high taboo.
Regardless of genre, Oopsie Daisy does not edit content containing any of the following:
– on-page or graphically described sexual or physical abuse of a minor
– on-page or graphically described sexual activity between characters where one is a minor
– on-page or graphically described torture (of any age or gendered character)
– on-page or graphically described animal abuse
When in doubt, please discuss your content via email before submitting a manuscript or sample for editing.
